Karachi: Pakistan?s de facto home minister on Sunday said his Indian counterpart is expected to visit Islamabad in the first week of September.
Rehman Malek, who is adviser to the government on interior affairs after a Supreme Court verdict deprived him of his ministerial status for having dual nationality, told a conference that P.K. Chidambaram will visit here in September.
?Indian interior minister Chidambaram has accepted my invitation to visit Pakistan and he will visit here in the first week of September? Malek said.
The visit would mend the fences between the two archrivals which have fought four wars on the disputed territories whereas terrorists operations have brought them on the verge of war several time.

?The accused of Mumbai terrorist attacks attempted to created deep rift and tension between Pakistan and India,? Malek said.

In May, the Indian top official of interior ministry visited Islamabad and held talks with his Pakistani peer. Analysts believed that the meetings have already prepared groundwork for the ministerial meetings.
Between other crucial issues, the upcoming ministerial visit could seal a liberal visa regime between the two countries.
Signing of new visa regime was shelved in the May meeting as both the side suggested that such a historic accord should be signed on political levels.

Malek was of the view that both India and Pakistan were faced with cyber crimes and the internet was an effective tool for the terrorists for contacting each other.
He also emphasised the need of regulating the social media which, he said, was causing pollution on moral and other grounds.
