Animal welfare call in Joppa leads to moonshine arrest

A Morgan County man was arrested in connection with a moonshine operation uncovered while police were responding to a call about a horse.

According to WAFF, someone called about the welfare of horses at 120 Mardis Point Road in Joppa. Deputies discovered a horse in poor condition, but when they started looking for water for the horse, they spotted a moonshine still.

ABC agents were called to dismantle the still.

Daniel Wesley England, 36, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of prohibited liquor. His bond was set at $300.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
